Lead Product Designer

AirHelp

AirHelp is on a mission to make the world of travel better. Since our founding in 2013, we've helped over 2.7 million passengers get their rightful compensation, and protected the trips of over 9 million travelers through our membership program, AirHelp+. With a global team of 400 AirHelpers speaking 19 languages, we aim to provide fair treatment and a stress-free travel experience for all.

About the Role

We're entering an exciting new chapter and are looking for a Lead Product Designer to take full ownership of the design direction for our new mobile app — a core initiative driving the next phase of our company's growth. This is a rare opportunity to help build something high-impact from the ground up. You'll influence not just how it looks and feels, but how it performs, scales, and shapes the way travelers engage with our services.

You'll work directly with product and company leadership to evolve the MVP into a bold, intuitive, and scalable experience. You'll define the strategy, lead execution, and elevate the role of design across the business.

This role is hybrid (2 days/week in the office) from Kraków, Gdańsk, Warsaw, Berlin or Barcelona.

What You'll Do

• Own end-to-end design of the mobile app — evolving the MVP and launching new features that drive real business outcomes.

• Shape the future of stress-free travel — craft a long-term mobile design strategy that positions the AirHelp app as a trusted travel companion throughout the entire journey.

• Design and ship impactful features — partner with PMs, engineers, and researchers to design, prototype, and launch new features that simplify claims, reduce friction, and proactively support users.

• Raise the bar for mobile UX — elevate the quality of mobile design through thoughtful critiques, design thinking workshops, and mentorship of peers.

• Establish a mobile design system — help build and scale a cohesive mobile design system in collaboration with the design systems team, enabling faster iteration and visual consistency.

What You'll Bring

• 7+ years of product design experience, with at least 2+ years in a lead role shipping mobile applications end-to-end.

• A track record of launching and scaling mobile products that drive significant business outcomes.

• Deep expertise in user research, design systems, interaction design, and visual design for mobile platforms.

• A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional design quality, strategic thinking, and clear business impact.

• Strong communication and storytelling skills — you can bring people along, even in complex or high-stakes situations.

• Mastery of Figma and other modern design tools, including AI-assisted workflows (Cursor, Claude)."
