Product Designer

Notion

Notion helps you build beautiful tools for your life’s work. In a world overloaded with apps, tabs, and context switching, Notion provides a single connected space for docs, notes, projects, calendars, and email — all seamlessly integrated with AI to help you find answers and automate work.

Millions of people and teams, from individuals to companies like Toyota, Figma, and OpenAI, use Notion to stay focused, creative, and connected.

In-person collaboration is core to Notion’s culture — team members work from the office on Mondays and Thursdays (Anchor Days) to stay connected, collaborative, and inspired.

About the Role

At Notion, we’re rethinking what computing should feel like. Imagine designing software with the timeless craftsmanship of a German camera, the playfulness of a Japanese toy, and the universal appeal of Coca-Cola — that’s our design ambition.

As a Product Designer, you’ll work across product, design, and engineering to craft experiences that are intuitive, thoughtful, and built to last. You’ll balance vision and practicality, moving fluidly from concept to pixel-perfect execution while influencing Notion’s evolving design system and product direction.

What You’ll Achieve

Design product concepts that balance vision, craft, speed, and business value.
Craft every detail of new features, from early UX explorations to final UI.
Own projects end-to-end, collaborating closely with engineers to ship your work.
Partner with Customer Experience, Sales, and Success teams to deeply understand diverse user needs and feed those insights into product direction.
Collaborate with Marketing to design cohesive storytelling across Notion’s touchpoints — from product to web to onboarding.
Evolve Notion’s design system, creating patterns that are both scalable and elegant.

Skills You’ll Need to Bring

5+ years of experience designing digital products end-to-end.
Strong UX intuition and the ability to translate abstract ideas into accessible flows.
A portfolio demonstrating clear, intuitive, and visually appealing design solutions.
A balanced approach — you care about craft, but you also move quickly and pragmatically.
A strategic mindset that connects user needs to business impact.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills — both visual and verbal.
Ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines (engineering, PM, research, data).
Curiosity, open-mindedness, and “strong opinions, loosely held.”

Nice to Haves

Experience building tools or systems with small teams.
A unique perspective or background that adds to Notion’s diversity of thought.
A personal connection to the pain of fragmented tools — and a drive to fix it.
Familiarity with computing pioneers like Douglas Engelbart, Alan Kay, or Bret Victor.
Experience coding or working closely with engineers.

Collaborate across disciplines to shape the future of toolmaking.
