Design System Specialist

Above Agency is hiring a Design System Specialist to help shape scalable, enterprise-grade digital products for global clients. This role sits at the intersection of visual craft, system thinking, and emerging AI-driven design workflows, with a focus on building robust, future-ready design systems.

In this position, you’ll lead the creation and evolution of large-scale design systems, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and production alignment across complex products. You’ll use AI-assisted tooling to generate documentation, maintain usage guidelines, support developer handoff, and accelerate migration from legacy patterns to modern token-based systems. Close collaboration with designers, engineers, and stakeholders will be central, alongside mentoring teams on responsible and effective use of AI within design system practices.

The role requires 5+ years of experience building complex design systems, deep expertise in Figma, strong systems thinking, and a portfolio demonstrating real-world enterprise system work. Above is looking for someone with sharp QA instincts, strong communication skills, and curiosity about the evolving landscape of AI-enabled design tooling.
