Senior Product Designer I

Articulate

Articulate is a leading SaaS platform for online workplace training, powering course creation and learning systems used by 118,000+ customers, including the entire Fortune 100. As a Senior Product Designer I, you operate as a trusted problem solver within a well-defined, increasingly complex product area. You connect your work to broader business goals and play a key role in shaping usability, discovery, and delivery. You work closely with Product and Engineering as the design lead for your tripod, ensuring solutions are usable, cohesive, and aligned with strategy.

Overall Impact

You act as the design lead for your product area, owning usability and guiding discovery discussions with PM and Engineering. You manage discovery end-to-end for at least one core problem space, delivering clear, validated concepts and polished solutions. You advocate for user needs, support product decisions with evidence, and ensure that what ships is both strategically valuable and grounded in strong design thinking. You contribute to the design system and help raise overall craft across the team.

Usability Ownership

You’re responsible for identifying risks, validating assumptions, and steering the product toward user-centered outcomes. You maintain the usability bar from early access through GA, delivering intuitive and strategically aligned experiences. You move quickly where needed while clearly articulating tradeoffs. You participate in customer research, synthesize insights into actionable direction, and bring a working knowledge of users, products, and the competitive landscape to inform decisions.

Design Execution

You model experimentation and rapid learning, using lightweight prototypes and testing to validate ideas. You deliver detailed flows, specs, and interaction states that consider edge cases and real-world usage. Your work is cohesive, high-quality, and grounded in the design system, and you drive clarity across all stages of execution.

Collaboration & Tripod Leadership

You help shape roadmap priorities and scope within your product area, balancing timelines and tradeoffs across design, product, and engineering. You facilitate cross-functional alignment, surface risks, and make decisions visible. You support design QA to uphold consistency and polish before launch.

Team Citizenship

You model strong craft and collaboration in critiques and cross-functional rituals. You bring industry insights to the team, support peers, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. You engage fully in tripod activities—crits, planning, QA—and help elevate the work of other designers.

What You Should Have

You bring 5+ years of product design experience with ownership of end-to-end features in SaaS. Your portfolio demonstrates strong flows, prototypes, visuals, and interaction thinking. You’re fluent in Figma and design systems, well-versed in user-centered design and usability principles, and comfortable working in empowered product teams. You communicate your rationale clearly, work autonomously, and support others around you.

Nice to Have

You may bring experience with hypothesis-driven development, user research tools, or contributing to design culture and mentorship.

Compensation

The US compensation range is $129,900–$194,900, with bonus eligibility and access to Articulate’s full benefits package. Pay varies based on skills, experience, and organizational needs. This is a fully remote US role with occasional travel and requires continuous residency in the US.
