Firemonkeys is EA’s leading mobile studio, best known for The Sims FreePlay. Based in Melbourne, the team is expanding the Sims universe on mobile, creating AAA-quality experiences that empower players to shape their own stories.
The Role
EA is looking for an Associate UI/Experience Designer to help design and implement user interfaces for mobile games. You’ll collaborate with artists, designers, and engineers to shape aesthetically appealing, innovative, and player-friendly UI. This is a diverse role covering the full design process — from wireframes and flows through to prototypes and final in-game layouts.
Responsibilities
Create UI artwork following direction from the Art Lead, Designer, and Producer.
Design and implement engaging, innovative, and intuitive user experiences.
Collaborate with designers and programmers to refine and improve UI/UX.
Advocate for player experience while maintaining each game’s unique design.
Work within an evolving UI style, balancing creative and technical constraints.
Report progress to leads and stakeholders on feature development.
Qualifications
Strong design and typography portfolio.
Strong iconography skills.
Experience with videogame or digital app UI (mobile, console, or PC experience a plus).
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, XD, or Figma.
Some experience with keyframe animation for UI elements.
Ability to learn in-house UI tools.
Passion for games, design, and improving user experiences.
