Principal User Experience Designer

Autodesk is hiring a Principal User Experience Designer to join its Visualization Solutions group within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) platform organisation. This remote-first UK role focuses on shaping high-fidelity visualisation experiences across web, mobile, and desktop products that help professionals review models, manage workflows, and make informed project decisions.

In this senior design leadership role, you’ll drive UX strategy and execution for complex visualisation capabilities, balancing detailed interaction design with holistic experience thinking. You’ll collaborate closely with designers, product managers, engineers, and UX researchers to influence product direction, champion evidence-based design, and align roadmaps with meaningful user and business outcomes. You’ll also mentor designers, lead critiques, and help maintain high standards of craft and consistency across the organisation.

The role suits an experienced UX leader with strong communication and storytelling skills, a background in SaaS product design, and confidence navigating ambiguity within complex systems. Experience with 3D tools, creative software, AEC workflows, immersive technologies, or AI-driven design is beneficial but not required.
