Design Engineer

Braintrust is building a platform for evaluating and deploying AI systems. Their mission: help enterprises build trust in AI by making it easy to test, monitor, and improve models with real-world evaluation frameworks. Customers include leaders in finance, healthcare, and tech, all building production-grade AI.

About the Role

Braintrust is looking for a Design Engineer who thrives on complex problems and creating products that power-users (engineers and PMs) love to use daily. Their users spend hours inside the product, running experiments, analyzing user behaviour, and toggling between code and UI, so the design must feel seamless, fast, and highly functional.

In this role, you’ll:
Play a key role in developing the core user experience across UI, API, and SDK.

Work directly with users to understand needs and shape the roadmap.

Own the entire product lifecycle — research, design, implementation.

Partner with engineering and product to build and maintain a design system that supports rapid iteration.

Ideal Candidate Credentials

Experience designing zero-to-one B2B products with complex requirements.

Comfortable building — familiarity with modern devtools (bonus if you can share your GitHub).

Track record of owning problems end-to-end and learning fast to fill skill gaps.

Thrives in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with competing priorities.
