Product Designer II
Dow Jones
Dow Jones is hiring a Product Designer II to help shape the digital experiences that bring Pulitzer Prize–winning journalism to millions of readers. The role sits within the company’s Design & Research organisation, a globally distributed team combining deep research with high craft design to build products across brands like The Wall Street Journal, MarketWatch, Barron’s, and Factiva.
As a Product Designer II, you’ll own end-to-end delivery of complex feature areas, such as user profiles, subscription journeys, or data-heavy interfaces. You’ll define problems, design workflows, create polished UI, and monitor performance after launch to ensure features meet their intended outcomes. The role includes close collaboration with a Product and Engineering triad, balancing user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility while contributing patterns and components to the Index Design System.
You’ll have autonomy in decision-making, presenting work to senior leadership, and mentoring junior designers through feedback and shared problem-solving. The position blends systems thinking with practical delivery: you’ll design micro-interactions and edge cases, support accessibility standards, and partner with researchers to ground decisions in measurable user insights.
Dow Jones is looking for a designer with 3–5+ years of experience and a portfolio that demonstrates ownership of complex product work, high-craft execution, and an ability to work fluidly within cross-functional teams. You should be fluent in Figma, confident in design fundamentals, comfortable partnering with analytics teams, and skilled at articulating rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience in media, enterprise tools, subscriptions, or data visualisation is beneficial but not required.
The company offers comprehensive benefits, access to Dow Jones products, and a workplace focused on research-driven design excellence and long-term digital transformation.
