Junior Product Designer

Engine by Starling is hiring a Junior Product Designer in London to help design digital banking products used by financial institutions worldwide. Engine is Starling Bank’s software-as-a-service platform, enabling banks to launch modern, scalable digital experiences powered by the same technology behind Starling’s growth.

In this role, you’ll contribute across the full product lifecycle, from discovery through delivery, designing mobile SDKs and web portals spanning areas such as onboarding, payments, lending, saving, cards, and open banking. You’ll collaborate closely with product owners, engineers, and clients to solve complex, multi-region challenges while balancing both customer and institutional needs.

You’ll help evolve a multi-brand design system, ensure designs support rapid client configuration and adoption, and advocate for accessible, high-quality user experiences that demonstrate the impact of strong product design in banking. The position involves running research, communicating design rationale to diverse stakeholders, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver thoughtful, well-crafted solutions.

This role suits a designer with around two years of UX or product design experience, strong visual craft, accessibility awareness, and proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools. Experience in fintech, mobile design, B2B or B2B2C environments, or contributing to design systems is beneficial.
