Foundations Designer

KAYAK, part of Booking Holdings, is hiring a Foundations Designer to join its Design Language and Systems team and help shape the visual and technical foundations that power its global travel products. This role focuses on building scalable systems such as icons, illustrations, motion, and design tokens that ensure consistency across platforms, brands, and production environments.

You’ll design and maintain visual asset systems, contribute to motion language and interaction timing, and support the evolution of cross-platform design tokens spanning web, iOS, and Android. Close collaboration with engineers and product designers is central, particularly to align Figma libraries with production code, reduce system drift, and enable scalable adoption through clear documentation, contribution models, and AI-assisted workflows.

The role requires 3+ years of experience in a product design environment, proven ownership of scalable icon, illustration, or motion systems, strong Figma expertise, and practical understanding of design tokens and front-end implementation. Experience using AI tools to streamline design workflows and comfort collaborating with engineering systems such as Storybook or GitHub are also expected. This is a systems-focused position rather than a traditional UX, UI, or research role.
