Principal Product Designer,

Vimeo enables anyone to create high-quality video experiences to connect better and bring ideas to life. The platform proudly serves a growing community of nearly 300 million users, ranging from independent storytellers to global enterprises.

As a Principal Product Designer, you will help shape Vimeo’s Streaming Solution. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design tools and features that empower creators and communities to build, curate, and analyze their own streaming businesses. Vimeo’s platform supports custom channel design, monetization models, media management, and direct audience engagement.

The Role

This is a high-impact design leadership position where you will lead end-to-end design for multiple projects as the sole designer on the team. You’ll create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups, ensuring harmony with Vimeo’s broader product ecosystem.

You’ll partner closely with product managers and engineers to translate business and user needs into intuitive product experiences. You will also contribute to crafting an engaging product vision, defining design principles, and championing quality across every aspect of the Streaming Solution.

What You’ll Bring

At least 7 years of professional product design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating interaction design, visual design, and product thinking across web and native apps. Expertise in Figma, prototyping, and usability testing is required, as well as the ability to balance speed with quality.

You should have strong communication skills, proven experience leading large-scale design initiatives, and confidence collaborating as the sole designer within a cross-functional team. Prior experience designing for video streaming technologies is highly valued.

Nice to Have

Experience working with distributed or remote teams.
Familiarity with motion design or animation.
Background in SaaS product design.

Compensation

Base salary range for this role is:
NYC Metro, Bay Area, Seattle, and Los Angeles: $158,000 – $216,500
All other US cities: $142,200 – $194,850
