Product Design Intern
Clerkie
Clerkie is on a mission to democratize financial wellness through the power of AI. Since launching in 2018, we’ve grown into a trusted fintech platform helping millions of borrowers reduce debt while providing innovative tools for creditors. Backed by $41 million in funding and a fully remote team across the U.S., we’re shaping the future of financial guidance and B2B software solutions.
About the Role
We’re hiring two Product Design Interns for a full-time program running three to nine months, with the goal of converting interns into full-time designers. As part of our design team, you’ll contribute to real-world projects that shape how users experience Clerkie. You’ll work closely with our Senior Product Designer and Product Designer on a mix of branding, marketing, creative, and product design projects, while developing your skills to grow into a well-rounded product designer.
What You’ll Do
You’ll design compelling brand assets across marketing, sales, and partnership initiatives, from pitch decks and campaign visuals to landing pages and collateral. You’ll collaborate with Product, Engineering, and GTM teams to maintain consistency across user experiences and contribute to the evolution of Clerkie’s brand system. As you grow, you’ll gain hands-on product design experience, supporting the design of web and mobile experiences while refining your instincts for user-centered design.
What We’re Looking For
You bring a strong portfolio that showcases your design thinking and visual design skills, with proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. You have a sharp eye for detail, an understanding of visual design fundamentals, and a collaborative, curious mindset. You’re adaptable, eager to learn, and comfortable communicating your ideas clearly. While not required, experience with UX, responsive design, or startup environments is a plus.
Salary and Benefits
This internship offers a salary of $60,000 – $80,000. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) and retirement plans, paid time off and holidays, an annual company retreat, and a company laptop with remote work setup. You’ll be part of a collaborative, remote-first culture where people come first.
The Hiring Process
Our interview process is designed to be a two-way conversation. You’ll start with an application and portfolio review, followed by an intro call with our Head of People, a portfolio deep dive with our Senior Product Designer, a design challenge and review, and a final meeting with an executive. Before an offer, candidates complete a background and reference check. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
