About You

You’re a Product Designer who cares deeply about interaction quality—someone who values clean, clear, and fun user experiences.

You’re obsessed with the user journey, always asking: “Is this useful? Is it intuitive? Does it improve someone’s day?” You take a UX-first approach to design and are a process enthusiast.

You’re creative and curious. You enjoy ownership and responsibility, and you thrive in a collaborative environment. Bonus if you love games or chess and see them as a healthy escape.

What You’ll Do

Design high-quality experiences across our web and mobile platforms, and take ownership from concept through to implementation.

Contribute to and evolve our Figma-based design system, ensuring consistency across platforms.

Create interactive prototypes to showcase ideas and animations using tools like Figma, Protopie, or Origami.

Work closely with product managers, engineers, copywriters, and other stakeholders to translate ideas into effective UI.

Present your work confidently, clearly articulating decisions based on user insights and business context.

Support your teammates by giving and receiving feedback during design reviews.

Preferred Skills

5+ years of professional product design experience, ideally on consumer apps or mobile games.

A strong online portfolio showcasing mobile or web design work.

Expertise in Figma and experience with structured design systems.

Clear and effective communication skills—both written and verbal.

A strong sense of ownership and accountability in your design work.

Bonus Points For

A passion for chess and familiarity with Chess.com’s product.

Experience designing for mobile games or gamified platforms.

Motion design or UI animation experience.

Frontend or design engineering skills.
