The Role
Microsoft is seeking a Product Designer II to inspire, define, articulate, and deliver exceptional solutions. You will be responsible for deeply understanding stakeholder needs, creating design strategies, and delivering final experiences. Communication of ideas is key, whether through storytelling, sketches, or fully rendered designs. You will collaborate with Product Management, Engineers, Copilot teams, app partners, and other design teams to bring ideas to life.
Responsibilities
Design relevant and impactful customer experiences with a strong understanding of behaviours, motivations, and needs. Work with and within Design Systems to deliver high-quality experiences.
Collaborate across teams, including product managers, engineers, researchers, and stakeholders, to define and iterate on new or existing features. Partner with researchers to test, interpret findings, and incorporate results into design.
Communicate design concepts and rationale effectively to cross-functional partners and stakeholders.
Foster creativity and innovation by mentoring and collaborating with other designers.
Qualifications
Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, or Interaction Design, with 3+ years of product or service design experience. Equivalent experience will also be considered. Candidates must have at least 3+ years of professional experience designing and prototyping in Figma. Applications must include a link to a design portfolio.
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience, or a Master’s with 3+ years of experience. Equivalent professional experience is also acceptable. Candidates should have at least 2+ years shipping products or services end-to-end. Experience in accessibility and inclusive design is desirable, alongside proven ability to advocate for design thinking and thrive in fast-paced environments.
Compensation
Product Design IC3. Typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 – $199,000 per year. In the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City, the base pay range is USD $131,400 – $215,400 per year.
Certain roles may also be eligible for additional benefits and compensation.
