Product Designer II

Spotify

Spotify is looking for a Product Designer to join our central Design Systems team — part of the Platform Mission. In this role, you’ll help shape the future of Encore, our internal design system that powers the Spotify design language, tools, and accessibility efforts.

You’ll bring strong visual design, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for improving how designers work. Whether that’s through smarter tooling, AI-driven processes, or simply more efficient ways of building, your goal will be to elevate the design experience for teams across Spotify.

You care about quality, inclusivity, and collaboration. You listen, you iterate, and you lead by example — through thoughtful, well-crafted design that others can build on.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work daily with a cross-functional team including engineers, producers, content designers, typographers, and product managers. Together, you’ll build and maintain the foundational building blocks of Spotify’s digital products.

You’ll explore and implement AI-driven ideas that improve workflows, tooling, and the adaptability of the design system.

You’ll collaborate with product designers across Spotify to refine and expand shared styles and patterns.

You’ll help evolve our internal processes and tooling, enabling design systems to scale across a wide variety of products and teams.

You’ll build solutions that flex across platforms — from mobile devices to laptops, game consoles, smart fridges, and in-car displays.

You’ll provide clarity and resources to over 100 designers globally, helping them align with Spotify’s design and accessibility standards.

You’ll take full ownership of your work, from exploration through execution and iteration. You’re responsible for the details and the outcomes.

Who You Are

You’ve spent several years designing consumer-facing digital products, working in-house at product companies.

You have strong visual design skills and a deep understanding of layout, interaction, motion, and storytelling through design.

You’re technically curious and see code as an essential part of modern design. You’re not afraid to dig into how things work.

You’ve worked with or contributed to large-scale design systems, even if you weren’t the owner.

You’ve designed custom tools or internal workflows for designers or developers.

You think in flows and transitions. You care about how interfaces feel, not just how they look.

You understand how different platforms and devices affect design decisions — and you’re comfortable designing for all of them.

You design for inclusion and accessibility. You don’t see accessibility as a compromise — it’s part of what makes great design.

You balance design instinct with data. You value both qualitative and quantitative insights and use them to inform your decisions.

You’re thoughtful, proactive, and willing to challenge assumptions. You’re always looking for a better way to solve the problem.

You have a portfolio (or PDF) of work that shows your approach and impact.

Where You’ll Work

This role is ideally based in Stockholm, Sweden, but may also be open to other EMEA locations where Spotify has an office — except France, due to on-call restrictions.

We offer flexibility. You can work from wherever you do your best work, as long as it aligns with Central European and GMT time zones.

Benefits

You’ll have access to extensive learning opportunities, supported by our dedicated team at GreenHouse.

You can choose how you want to share in Spotify’s success through flexible share incentives.

We offer six months of paid parental leave for all new parents, regardless of gender.

You’ll have access to mental health resources through our All The Feels program and self-care hub.

We offer flexible public holidays, so you can take time off in line with your values or beliefs.

Inclusion at Spotify

At Spotify, we’re building an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.

We want our teams to reflect the diversity of our global user base. That means creating space for all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives — and supporting each person to do their best work.

If you need an accommodation during the application process or on the job, just let us know. We’ve got you.
