Instacart is hiring a Product Designer II to join the Ads Experience team — the group shaping how shoppable media appears inside the Instacart app and on Caper Cart in-store devices. This team builds ad experiences that feel native to the grocery shopping journey while balancing the needs of customers, retailers, and advertisers. It’s one of the fastest-growing parts of the business and sits within a highly collaborative design organisation spanning product design, content design, research, and program management.
In this role, you’ll design and refine end-to-end ad experiences across mobile, web, and physical surfaces, focusing on customer relevance, usability, and strong performance for CPG brands. You’ll explore complex problem spaces, work with data and experimentation, prototype personalized and interactive experiences, and contribute to Instacart’s design system using Figma with accessibility standards in mind. The work involves shaping new ways customers can engage with brands, aligning with product and engineering partners, and presenting compelling concepts that help advertisers understand the impact of Instacart’s ad ecosystem.
Instacart is looking for someone with at least three years of product design experience in consumer products or advertising, strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and comfort working in iterative, data-driven environments. You should be confident with documentation, remote collaboration, and maintaining high craft standards. A strong portfolio is required. Experience with motion design, interactive prototypes, ad surfaces, or agency environments is a plus.
