Product Designer

Ostrom

Ostrom is on a mission to build Europe’s leading energy management platform, providing fair and clean energy to everyone. They’re Germany’s fastest-growing green energy provider and a Certified B Corp™, focused on making renewable energy more accessible and inclusive through innovations like dynamic pricing, smart EV charging, and solar integration.

They’re a diverse team of over 47 people from more than 16 nationalities, and nearly half of the team identifies as female. Backed by over €40M in funding, Ostrom is now looking for a motivated Product Designer to help shape the next generation of digital energy tools.

Your Mission

As the second designer on the product team, you’ll play a key role in defining and delivering user experiences across Ostrom’s mobile app and website. You’ll work cross-functionally to bring customer needs into the product roadmap and deliver quality solutions that balance business goals, technical feasibility, and great UX.

Projects might include improving dynamic tariffs, integrating smart devices, or building tools to support customer growth and retention.

What You’ll Do

You’ll own the design process from start to finish — from customer research and user interviews to prototyping, delivery, and post-launch testing. You’ll be an advocate for Ostrom’s customers, making sure their needs are clearly reflected in the product experience.

You’ll also help evolve Ostrom’s design system and processes, working closely with the Senior Product Designer, PMs, and developers to deliver clean, accessible, and well-researched designs.

What They’re Looking For

You have 2+ years of experience in a product design role, ideally working on mobile apps within a startup or tech company. You’re confident in your visual design skills, understand mobile design principles like Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design, and have a solid grasp of UX thinking.

You know how to run usability tests and turn research into great experiences. You’re also comfortable collaborating across teams and gathering feedback from stakeholders. English fluency is required, and German is a bonus.

Bonus If You Have

Experience designing data-heavy products or dashboards
Knowledge of tools like Webflow or Readymag
German language skills for customer interviews
Front-end development knowledge (especially React or React Native)
Ability to create or code high-fidelity prototypes

Why Join Ostrom

Ostrom offers a flexible hybrid work model within Germany and a Berlin office if you want it. You'll receive stock options, a relocation package, and support with visas if needed.

You’ll join a team that believes in transparency, flat hierarchies, and working how you work best — whether that’s from home, the office, or somewhere sunny.

Benefits include an annual learning budget, company pension scheme, discounted gym membership, public transport ticket, e-bike or e-moped, or monthly vouchers.
