Runna
We help everyday runners become outstanding by providing world-class training, coaching, and community. Whether you’re improving your 5k time or training for your first marathon, Runna is here to guide the journey.
We’ve built iOS, Android, and Apple Watch apps that coach people through their full training experience, syncing with their favourite fitness devices. We’re growing extremely fast. In November 2023, we closed a $6.5M funding round led by JamJar with participation from Eka Ventures, Venrex, and Creator Ventures.
In 2024, Apple selected us as one of three global finalists for the Apple Design Awards — a huge milestone reflecting the innovation and impact of what we’ve built. Now in 2025, we’ve just been acquired — an exciting new chapter for our team and community.
Why Now
This is a magical time to join Runna. With our recent acquisition, the journey ahead is even more exciting.
We’re aiming to grow into the go-to training platform for runners everywhere — reaching millions of subscribers around the world.
To do that, we’re building an exceptional team to help us scale. If you want to be part of something fast-moving and meaningful, now’s the time.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for talented, creative, and positive team players to join our cross-functional Product and Engineering team.
You’ll help design new features across our iOS, Android, and Apple Watch apps, as well as third-party integrations like Garmin, Strava, Coros, and Suunto.
You’ll work closely with founders, engineers, product managers, and—most importantly—our customers to shape the future of Runna.
This is a collaborative role where you’ll be supported all the way as we continue to grow.
The Role
As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll be involved in the full end-to-end delivery of product features—from research to release.
You’ll help discover and prioritise user needs throughout the Runna journey.
You’ll work closely with product and engineering to shape solutions for complex design challenges.
You’ll illustrate ideas using user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals in Figma.
You’ll run user testing sessions and apply the feedback directly to your work.
You’ll collaborate with developers to ensure smooth handoff and great interactions.
You’ll continue to build and refine our design system in Figma.
You’ll report directly to the Head of Product Design.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with 2 to 4 years of experience as a product or UX designer, ideally with a strong focus on mobile design.
You’re a design generalist, with a well-rounded skillset in typography, layout, and information visualisation.
You love speaking to users to understand their needs and create effective solutions.
You’re comfortable using quantitative data alongside qualitative research to guide your decisions.
You sweat the small stuff — obsessing over details like pixel alignment, animations, and micro-interactions.
You have advanced skills in Figma and prototyping, and you're confident working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
You enjoy working cross-functionally and are comfortable participating in workshops and design discussions.
Bonus Points
It’s not required, but it’s a plus if you’ve worked with consumer apps, startups, or mobile platforms.
Experience working with React Native teams or smartwatch interfaces is a bonus.
If you’re interested in fitness, running, or health — you’ll feel right at home here.
Interview Process
We aim to make the process straightforward and enjoyable. Here's what to expect:
A 30-minute introductory chat with our Head of Design.
A short take-home design task that should take about an hour to complete.
A 50-minute video call, where you’ll walk us through your design task and share your thoughts on an app you admire.
A team meet-and-greet — virtual or in-person — with our founders and wider team.
We promise to communicate clearly and quickly throughout the process. Let us know if we can make any adjustments to better accommodate your needs — whether that’s timing around childcare, accessibility, or anything else.
Benefits and Compensation
The salary for this role is between £60,000 and £75,000, along with generous equity options.
We review salaries every six months to ensure we stay competitive and reward growth.
You’ll get 25 days of holiday plus UK bank holidays.
We offer flexible working, with most of the team coming into our Vauxhall office 2–3 days a week.
You’ll receive a brand-new MacBook, a running watch of your choice, £300 towards setting up your desk, and anything else you need to do your best work.
We offer private health insurance and a workplace pension scheme.
Our enhanced family policy includes three months fully paid leave when a new Runna joins your family, plus fertility and family-building support.
You’ll get an hour each week (during work hours) to complete a Runna workout — yes, that’s part of the job.
