Product Designer

Sano Genetics

Sano Genetics is on a mission to accelerate the transition to personalised medicine. Our goal is to speed up the development of life-saving treatments for people with limited options. We’re building the best source of patient-in-the-loop genomic and health data to support the future of precision medicine.

The Role

As a Product Designer at Sano, you’ll help shape how individuals experience our genetic testing journeys and access diagnostics that could change their lives.

You’ll join a team where design is a strategic driver, not an afterthought. You’ll collaborate closely with product and engineering, own end-to-end design work, and contribute to the scaling of our design systems.

You’ll report to our Lead Product Manager and work closely with our Lead Product Designer. You’ll also be part of a cross-functional product team and design community that values feedback, craft, and collaboration.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll design and own key features across our genetic testing and participant flows.

You’ll lead UX and UI work from early discovery through to high-fidelity delivery.

You’ll help shape the problem space, prioritise design efforts, and validate assumptions with the product team.

You’ll collaborate with engineers, sharing early concepts and iterating quickly.

You’ll turn insights from research and data into clear design decisions.

You’ll contribute to our design system to support speed and consistency.

You’ll communicate your thinking clearly through async walkthroughs, prototypes, and documentation.

You’ll keep your team unblocked by being proactive and solution-focused.

About You

You’ve designed intuitive, elegant digital products — ideally B2B or B2C platforms.

You bring strong product thinking and simplify complexity into great user experiences.

You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and proactively solving problems.

You take full ownership of your work, from discovery to final handoff.

You’re confident in Figma and familiar with tools like Notion and Miro.

You understand how UX connects to business goals and can zoom in and out.

You’ve worked across the full product lifecycle and thrive in cross-functional teams.

You’re collaborative, communicative, and value early input from your team.

You document your work clearly and share progress often.

You’ve worked in fast-paced SaaS environments and understand how to adapt.

Bonus If You Have

Experience in health tech, genetics, diagnostics, or clinical research.

Comfort designing around complex user data.

Contributions to shared design systems in growing teams.

This Role Might Not Be Right If

You prefer working with clearly defined specs instead of open problem spaces.

You find frequent user research or fast feedback cycles frustrating.

You only want to focus on one part of product design rather than the full scope.

You avoid early collaboration with engineers or struggle with async workflows.

Your portfolio doesn’t show strong visual and UX craft.
