Product Designer

The Telegraph

The Telegraph is looking for a Product Designer to join its award-winning Product Design team, working at the centre of the subscriptions experience. This role focuses on journeys that convert readers into subscribers and keep them engaged, including paywalls, checkouts, onboarding, retention flows, churn strategies and subscription management. It is a high-impact position where design directly supports subscriber growth and retention targets.

You will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Editorial and Subscriptions stakeholders to design, test and refine experiences that balance user needs with business goals. Using data, research and experimentation, you’ll validate your work through both moderated and unmoderated testing. This role is suited to a mid-to-senior designer confident leading projects end-to-end while collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

You will design and deliver end-to-end subscription journeys, collaborating with stakeholders to shape requirements and align design solutions with strategy. You will run and contribute to user research, create user journeys, flows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity visuals, and take part in A/B and multivariate testing programmes to optimise conversion and retention. You will ensure designs are accessible, consistent and on-brand across web and app platforms, present work clearly with rationale to peers and stakeholders, and contribute to The Telegraph Design System. You will also support and mentor more junior designers.

Requirements

The Telegraph is looking for a user-focused designer with a strong portfolio showing a user-centred design process and high-quality execution across digital products. You will have professional experience working on end-to-end product design, ideally including subscription, checkout or e-commerce flows. You will have experience in user research, strong skills in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, and a solid understanding of usability, accessibility and responsive design. Strong communication skills are required, alongside an analytical mindset, attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and developers.

Benefits

Life at The Telegraph is fast-paced and rewarding, supported by a flexible suite of benefits. These include dynamic working opportunities, medical cover, six months fully paid maternity leave and enhanced paternity/partner leave, life assurance, and season ticket loans. You will also have access to a range of training and development opportunities through The Academy, covering personal and professional skills.

Commitment to Inclusion

The Telegraph Media Group fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace and welcomes candidates from all backgrounds. It is a Level 3 Disability Confident Leader as part of the government’s Disability Confident Scheme, offering support and reasonable adjustments for candidates with disabilities or long-term health conditions.
