Product Designer
Universal Music Group is the world’s leading music company, home to artists, innovators, and entrepreneurs who shape culture globally. Its design team is a small but agile group working across UX/UI, print, motion graphics, and brand identity. The goal is to deliver creative design solutions, set visual standards, and enhance user experiences for Universal Music Group, Universal Music Publishing Group, and Universal Production Music.
The Role
As a Product Designer, you will gather requirements from Product Owners, Business Stakeholders, and Development teams. You will take ownership of Universal’s cross-platform design system and help shape components, patterns, and frameworks that unite the business. This role involves designing flows and experiences that simplify complex requirements, maintaining and evolving design systems, and contributing to strategic product decisions. You will present your work clearly, articulate goals and concepts, and collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to oversee the user experience from conception through to launch.
Requirements
The role requires strong experience designing and shipping end-to-end features across multiple platforms in a technology-driven environment. You must have solid interaction design skills, with the ability to define how experiences should behave based on user needs while considering scalability. Strong visual design skills are essential, with proficiency in typography, UI design for desktop and mobile, colour, layout, iconography, and overall aesthetics.
You should also bring experience in strategic product thinking, the ability to define goals and make decisions that balance user needs and business impact, and a proven portfolio that demonstrates user-centred design, problem-solving, and high-quality craft. Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite is required, alongside excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a small design team.
Nice to Have
Experience with B2B products, dashboards, and desktop experiences is advantageous. Knowledge of design tokens and motion design is also a plus.
Benefits
