Recognized as one of Canada’s fastest-growing companies and a top-rated startup in 2023 and 2024, Float is backed by leading investors, including Goldman Sachs Alternatives and OMERS Ventures, following a $70M Series B raise.

Trusted by over 5,000 Canadian companies, Float combines high-limit corporate cards, automated expense management, next-day bill payments, and high-yield accounts—all built in Canada, for Canada.

Float’s culture is rooted in ownership, transparency, and collaboration. Every team member’s voice matters, and decision-making is intentionally decentralized to ensure everyone has a stake in the company’s success.

About the Role

Float is looking for a Senior Product Designer to craft seamless, elegant experiences that power its corporate spending platform. You’ll help define how users interact with Float’s financial tools, accelerate adoption of key features, and improve the end-to-end customer journey.

This role is highly cross-functional, working with Product, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and Sales to transform broad concepts into beautifully executed designs that deliver real business impact.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Collaborating across departments to take products from concept to launch.
Partnering with customers to deeply understand their experiences and needs.
Identifying product gaps and generating creative ideas that empower users and drive growth.
Owning the look, feel, and overall experience of Float’s user-facing platform.
Prioritizing design work that aligns with customer value and business impact.
Developing prototypes, mock-ups, and detailed specifications that communicate design intent.
Translating broad ideas into simple, valuable, and elegant product experiences.

About You

You put customers first and care deeply about creating meaningful value.
You act like an owner—taking accountability for outcomes and driving progress proactively.
You think big and move fast, balancing speed and quality.
You constantly learn, grow, and seek feedback.
You raise the bar by caring about both craft and efficiency.
You win as a team—collaborating generously and communicating clearly.

Qualifications

3–5+ years of Product Design experience, ideally in B2B SaaS or startup environments.
Expert-level proficiency in Figma, with a clean, systematic approach to design.
Comfortable working in ambiguity and taking ownership of the full design process.
Strategic thinker who leverages both qualitative and quantitative insights to drive decisions.
Strong communicator who can synthesize perspectives across Product, Engineering, and leadership.
Experience with finance or accounting products is a strong plus.
Commercially minded with an understanding of ROI and business outcomes.
Customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, and highly collaborative.

This May Not Be the Role for You If…

You prefer predictable routines or need constant direction.
You’re uncomfortable working independently or asynchronously.
You shy away from feedback or fast-paced startup environments.
You value politics over progress or ego over collaboration.

Why You Should Join

Work at one of Canada’s fastest-growing fintech companies.
Make an impact in a high-autonomy, high-growth environment.
Competitive compensation, equity options, and comprehensive benefits.
Hybrid model with in-office collaboration days in Toronto.
Catered team lunches every Tuesday and Wednesday.
Dog-friendly office and a culture that values trust, transparency, and fun.

In Short

At Float, you’ll thrive if you’re bold, curious, and eager to make an impact. We’re building something special—and having fun doing it. If you’re excited to help shape the future of business finance in Canada, we’d love to meet you.

For accommodations during the hiring process, reach out to Vic (victoria@floatcard.com)—Float is committed to ensuring accessibility and inclusion for every candidate.
