Lead Product Designer (Design Systems)

Synthesia is hiring a Lead Product Designer focused on Design Systems to architect the UI “source of truth” for its AI video platform used by the majority of Fortune 100 companies. Following major Series E funding and continued global growth, this role will shape scalable, accessible, and AI-ready component architecture across complex SaaS experiences.

You will define semantic behaviour beyond visual mocks, including keyboard flows, focus order, and ARIA accessibility logic, while maintaining tight alignment between Figma, React components, design tokens, and CSS variables. The role also involves stabilising system architecture for LLM-driven development, setting accessibility policy aligned with the European Accessibility Act (EAA 2025), and enabling product teams to ship enterprise-grade features efficiently without sacrificing compliance or consistency.

The position requires significant experience scaling design systems for complex SaaS products, deep accessibility expertise, strong systems thinking, and technical fluency across design and frontend implementation. Clear documentation, strategic decision-making around standard versus custom UI, and strong communication across product and engineering leadership are essential.
