Senior Product Designer

Optibus is hiring a Senior Product Designer for a temporary six-month maternity cover to support the continued evolution of its unified public transportation software platform. Operating in more than 7,000 cities worldwide, Optibus uses AI, machine learning, and optimization algorithms to help transit agencies design more efficient, equitable, and sustainable networks that improve passenger access, reduce emissions, and enhance driver working conditions.

In this role, you will lead end-to-end design initiatives from concept through delivery, collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to create intuitive, high-quality user experiences. Responsibilities include conducting user research and usability testing, producing wireframes and interactive prototypes, iterating based on feedback, and contributing to the ongoing development of the company’s design system to ensure scalability and consistency across the platform.

The position is suited to designers with at least three years of experience working on complex systems or platforms, a strong portfolio demonstrating problem-solving and impact, and excellent communication and collaboration skills. Experience using AI tools within design workflows and Spanish language proficiency are considered advantages. Candidates must be available for the full six-month duration and based in Berlin to support the hybrid working model.
