Our Product Environment

Product sits at the heart of Starling’s technology team, working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment to create innovative solutions that keep the bank at the forefront of fintech. The design team works closely with engineers, researchers, content designers, and product managers to improve the app, online banking, and internal tools.

What You’ll Do

Use user-centred design methods to create leading experiences for iOS, Android, and online banking platforms.

Lead the design of major strategic products and features, as well as smaller iterations and fixes.

Own your work from start to finish, balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business goals.

Participate in design reviews, giving and receiving constructive feedback.

Contribute to internal tooling and evolve design systems across mobile and web.

Design inclusive and accessible solutions, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Experience designing high-quality products and features, ideally for consumer-facing mobile apps.

Strong visual design skills with pixel-perfect execution.

Proven collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Ability to simplify complex flows into intuitive user experiences.

Experience with design systems for iOS, Android, and responsive web.

A process grounded in research and validation, with experience conducting and applying user research.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to present and justify design decisions.

A portfolio showcasing case studies that detail research, UX, UI skills, and measurable impact.

Interview Process

Initial conversation with the Talent Team.

Skills and experience interview (60 mins) with a team member.

Portfolio review (90 mins) with two team members, presenting two case studies.

Executive interview (45 mins) with the Head of Product and an executive team member.
