About the role

As a Product Designer at StarRez, you’ll help shape intuitive, accessible, and effective experiences across our web and mobile platforms. You’ll lead research and discovery—conducting interviews, workshops, and usability tests—and translate insights into prototypes and high-fidelity designs that solve real customer problems. Collaborating closely with Product Managers and Engineers, you’ll influence the direction of your product area and deliver measurable impact. This is your chance to improve the student accommodation experience for millions of residents worldwide.

Role specifics

  • Work location: Remote (UK)

  • Travel: <5% (may vary depending on business need)

  • Reports to: Director, Design

What you’ll own

You’ll work cross-functionally to discover and translate user needs and business goals into intuitive, accessible designs. You’ll take ownership of design problems from discovery to delivery—planning research, mapping journeys, leading usability tests, and iterating based on feedback.

You’ll design end-to-end product experiences, from wireframes and prototypes to final mock-ups, while helping define and measure design success metrics. You’ll contribute to and evolve the StarRez Design System, collaborate with engineers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation, and embed accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) in everything you create.

You’ll also facilitate workshops, design critiques, and collaborative sessions, presenting your design rationale confidently across teams and stakeholders.

Required qualifications

You have 3+ years of professional product design experience in SaaS or B2B environments, with solid foundations in interaction design, visual design, and prototyping. You think strategically but execute with precision, and you’re skilled in discovery methods including user interviews, usability testing, and research synthesis.

You’re highly proficient in Figma for interaction and high-fidelity design, and comfortable collaborating across disciplines. You’re an articulate communicator who can explain design decisions with evidence and research insights, and you’re proactive, adaptable, and focused on user value.

Preferred qualifications

You have experience working in startups or scale-ups, knowledge of accessibility standards and assistive technologies, and exposure to AI-driven design workflows or design-to-dev automation.

Why join StarRez

You’ll join a well-established, high-performing company with more than 30 years of success. Expect a supportive team culture, learning and development opportunities, and a genuine appreciation for your impact.

Our Z-Factor value celebrates teamwork, care, and passion—you’ll collaborate with motivated, innovative people who have fun while driving our vision forward.
