UI Designer

River Island

River Island is seeking a highly skilled UI Designer to elevate our brand and digital customer experience through innovative and beautifully crafted interfaces. This role sits at the intersection of design and brand, working closely with the Head of Brand Creative to ensure every digital touchpoint aligns with our creative vision while delivering intuitive and high-performing experiences.

The ideal candidate combines refined design sensibility, strategic thinking, and a passion for turning brand narratives into exceptional UI solutions that are both visually impactful and commercially effective.

Responsibilities

Lead the UI design of key digital projects, from concept to final execution, ensuring alignment with brand identity and creative direction.

Collaborate with the Head of Brand Creative to translate campaigns and brand narratives into cohesive digital interfaces.

Transform UX wireframes and business requirements into pixel-perfect UI designs for web, mobile, and app.

Work closely with developers and product teams to ensure design quality and functionality meet the highest standard.

Champion best practices in responsive design, accessibility, and performance.

Maintain and evolve design systems and component libraries for scalability and consistency.

Contribute to creative brainstorming sessions and push forward visual innovation within the brand.

Present and articulate design rationale to stakeholders across marketing, product, and development.

Stay up to date on UI trends, tools, and technologies, bringing fresh ideas and approaches to the team.

Requirements

Strong UI design experience within a brand-led environment (agency or in-house).

Portfolio showcasing sophisticated visual design, attention to detail, and brand storytelling through UI.

Deep understanding of user-centered design principles.

Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite; knowledge of motion/interaction tools (e.g. After Effects, Principle) is a plus.

Experience with design systems and maintaining visual consistency across platforms.

Highly collaborative, with strong communication and presentation skills.

Organised and detail-oriented, thriving in fast-paced, iterative environments.
