As a UX Design Apprentice, you'll have the opportunity to learn and grow alongside our experienced UX designers and researchers, gaining hands-on experience in the full lifecycle of user-centred product, software, and service design. This will include activities such as conducting user research to deeply understand customer needs, ideating and prototyping design concepts, testing solutions with users, and iterating on designs to optimise the experience.

Weekly Working Hours

Apprentices will work a 40-hour working week, Monday to Friday.

The positions will be based in a Corporate Office.

Training Breakdown

Blended and work-based learning, including face-to-face workshops, digital learning, and self-study.

Required Skills & Qualifications

For the apprenticeship programme, we prioritise applicants eligible for government funding. You need to:

  • Be 18 years or over before the start date.

  • Have the right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the programme.

  • Have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 years.

  • Be a UK resident for the entire duration of the programme.

  • Not be registered to study on a UK government-funded course ending June 2025 or later.

  • Have at least 5 GCSEs grade C (grade 4) or above, including Maths and English.

  • Have 3 A-levels or equivalent qualifications at grade C or above, including one in a STEM subject.

Please note: This position is a 42-month fixed-term contract.
You must not already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level.

As a UX Design Apprentice, you'll gain hands-on experience and training in areas such as:

  • User Research: Assisting and conducting user research to capture, interpret, and articulate digital product or service requirements.

  • User-Centered Design: Advocating for the user perspective throughout the product development process.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Supporting the communication of UX insights, ideas, and results to stakeholders.

  • Professional Development: Engaging in continuous learning to stay up-to-date with the latest UX methodologies and trends.

  • Critical Thinking: Applying critical analysis to uncover user needs and devise innovative solutions.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Working closely with cross-functional teams to advocate for the user perspective.

  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrating a meticulous approach to data analysis to inform user-centered decisions.

  • Continuous Development: Maintaining a strong desire to stay on the pulse of the latest UX practices and techniques.

  • Design Systems: Contributing to the development and maintenance of robust, scalable design systems.

  • Product Development: Collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
