Role Summary
As a UX Designer specialising in online retail, you will shape the digital experience across website and mobile applications. You will advocate for the customer, turning complex problems into intuitive, user-friendly solutions that drive both conversion and satisfaction. Working in an agile environment, you will collaborate with product managers, developers, designers, researchers, and marketers to deliver a best-in-class e-commerce experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
Conduct user research such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and A/B testing.
Analyse data from Google Analytics, heatmaps, and session recordings to find opportunities.
Develop personas, journeys, and empathy maps to guide design.
Create information architecture, navigation, flows, wireframes, and prototypes for e-commerce features like browse, search, checkout, and account management.
Ensure designs are consistent, responsive, and accessible to WCAG standards.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and developers to align business goals with customer needs.
Present research, design rationale, and recommendations to stakeholders.
Plan and run usability tests, iterating on findings.
Contribute to and evolve the design system for consistency.
Stay current with best practices, competitor activity, and emerging technologies relevant to Gen Z.
What You’ll Need
Proven UX design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating user-centred design.
Experience designing for online retail or e-commerce platforms.
Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or InVision.
Experience with user research tools like UserTesting.com, Hotjar, or Optimizely.
Familiarity with analytics platforms such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics.
Basic understanding of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to simplify complex needs.
Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and flows.
Understanding of information architecture, usability, and interaction design principles.
