UX Designer

Pearson

Join Pearson’s globally distributed design team, led by Benny Zuffolini, Kyrsten McCartney, Jag Rai, and Catherine Stuart. We’re a medium-sized, diverse team dedicated to shaping exceptional experiences in the Language Learning sector — spanning multiple product families and audiences. Our work covers UX/UI Design, UX Writing, UX Research, and Service Design.

We value diversity of background, culture, seniority, and neurotype — fostering a collaborative, curious, and growth-oriented environment. While our team is global, most collaboration happens across European time zones.

Our UX philosophy is simple:

  • One size does not fit all.

  • It’s all about our users.

  • Keep it simple and consistent.

  • Reuse, don’t reinvent.

We believe in collaboration, curiosity, proactivity, and making an impact — both in how we work and how we relate to one another.

About the role

As a UX Designer at Pearson, you’ll collaborate daily with product managers, researchers, engineers, and QA in an agile environment to create user-centric, accessible, and seamless learning experiences. You’ll work across the full product lifecycle — from ideation and prototyping to testing and implementation — helping learners worldwide achieve their goals.

What you’ll do

You’ll translate product briefs into tangible artefacts, including user flows, wireframes, and prototypes, that help teams understand user needs and plan ahead. You’ll design both static and interactive components that enhance usability, ensure responsive layouts across screen sizes, and contribute to our design systems to maintain consistency across products.

You’ll be a Figma expert, using it for design, prototyping, and team collaboration. You’ll translate UX research and analytics into actionable insights, usability-test your own designs, and adapt quickly based on feedback. Collaboration is key — you’ll work closely with other designers, developers, product managers, and marketers, and may help facilitate workshops.

What we’re looking for

You bring a balance of strong UI and interaction design skills, fluency in responsive web design, and experience working with design systems. You’re confident using Figma and interpreting research data to guide your work. You’re open to feedback, adaptable, and able to balance product goals with user needs.

Experience running cross-functional workshops is a bonus.

Interview process

  1. Portfolio Review (45 mins)

  2. Values & Team Interview (30 mins)

  3. Cross-functional Interview (30 mins)

  4. Bar Raiser Interview (30 mins)

After each stage, both you and the team will review whether to progress to the next step.
