UX Researcher
IMB
IBM Software is looking for a UX Researcher to join their Maximo Application Suite team. This suite helps customers manage key physical assets like equipment, fleets, and buildings throughout their lifecycle—supporting tasks such as maintenance, inspections, and improving reliability.
As a UX Researcher, you’ll be part of a collaborative team that transforms UX insights into meaningful product outcomes. You’ll inform product decisions, advocate for user needs, and help drive the success of a market-leading B2B platform in asset lifecycle management.
About the Role
You’ll develop and execute research plans using both qualitative and quantitative methods. You'll conduct exploratory interviews, usability testing, concept validation, and more—adapting your approach to fast-changing project needs.
You’ll analyse data from various sources and translate your findings into actionable insights. These will be shared through clear, compelling presentations and reports that add value to cross-functional teams.
You’ll serve as a user advocate, ensuring user feedback and pain points are prioritised in product development discussions.
You’ll collaborate with designers, product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate research into design strategies and decision-making.
You’ll stay up to date with research methodologies and best practices, helping to continuously improve research processes and maintain expertise in asset lifecycle management.
You’ll contribute to a supportive feedback culture within the research team—sharing ideas openly, receiving feedback constructively, and helping others grow.
What They’re Looking For
You should have 3+ years of experience in UX research or a related field. You’ll need to show a track record of conducting research, analysing insights, and communicating findings effectively to stakeholders.
You should be skilled in a range of research methods and comfortable combining multiple data sources to develop strong insights. Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and a solution-oriented mindset are key.
Communication skills are essential—both written and verbal. You’ll need to present complex research findings clearly and adapt your communication to different audiences.
You’ll be expected to work closely with cross-functional teams and manage research from planning through to delivery.
You should be comfortable using research tools like Qualtrics and Respondent, and ideally have experience in agile environments.
Preferred Skills
A background in Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology, HCI, Information Science, or a similar discipline is valued.
Experience in B2B SaaS, especially asset lifecycle management, is a plus.
You should be adaptable, able to handle multiple projects, and confident in working independently.
Knowledge of UX design principles, human-centred design, and agile methodology will also strengthen your application.
